I have been without windshielf fluid in my car for about a month. It has been an interesting journey this past month. Trying to see out of the corners of my windshield because the majority of the windshield in under a quater inch of salt. With every swipe on the windshiled wiper my windsheild became more and more blulrry.
TOday became the point that drving was down right dangerous. I could not see a thing. I was praying that the car in front of me would some how splash some water onto the window and wipe away the salt. No such luck. I was driving by memory now. I could see nothing, just white. I thought about stopping at a gas station, but even if i bought windshield fluid…I had no idea where to put it in the car. What if i just dump it over the window and pull over every 5 mins and repeat? I then mentally began to go through my cell phone address book, what boys do I know that would help me out?
I managed to make it home. My roomate had purchased a bottle of windshield fluid. I rolled up my sleeves and after some jerking and pulling, I figured out how to open my hood. I stood there for a few moments looking at the forgien world that lies beneath the hood of my car. I saw a silver box with a symbol of a hand with a big X across it, I concluded that I would not touch that. Then, I found it! A little cirlce top that had a windshield wiper on it and it said “Windshield Fluid Only!” Hoooraaaay! I filled her up and washed my windows.
Ha ha!
I’ve often used the “grab a pile of snow and rub it on the window” method.
katie that is the funniest post ever. LOL

Reminds me of the time when you checked the oil of your car by reading the date on the oil-change sticker.
